Data Communication in the 10th Greece Race for the Cure®!
Data Communication participated in the 10th Greece Race for the Cure® on Sunday October 7, 2018, supporting the work of the Panhellenic Association of Women with Breast Cancer, "Alma Zois".
The Race for the Cure® is the world's biggest walking and running event in the fight against breast cancer. With 35 participants from our headquarters in Athens, Data Communication's team was there for the date, running or walking 5km or 2 km respectively. In this way, we supported the Panhellenic Association's effort to provide psychosocial support to women affected by breast cancer and inform the public about the benefits of prevention and timely diagnosis of the disease. Sensitive to social solidarity issues, Data Communication is always there in actions aiming at hope, awareness of the public and life-saving information.
Ms. Zoi Douzeni, Executive Vice President of Data Communication, stated:
"As part of our CSR actions, we participate in initiatives that focus on volunteering. Recognizing the importance of the social message of Race for the Cure®, the largest athletic event with a social purpose in Greece, we ran once again in this important struggle. Our goal was to express solidarity to women experiencing breast cancer and spread to even more people the message of prevention. We did that through a collective action that also boosted the teamwork characterizing our company and our people".
It is worth noting that the Greek event is currently the second largest Race for the Cure® event in the world, with 36,651 participants for 2017.
